Committee Charge and Objectives
Committee Charge
The committee for Association Activities and Programs is responsible for planning and supporting activities that reconnect, engage, and benefit Saint Leo University alumni. Association activities should be designed to engage alumni, encourage volunteerism, promote leadership, and periodically recognize outstanding alumni accomplishments and commitment to the mission, vision and values of Saint Leo University. Sub-committees may be designated as needed.
Committee Objectives
Sub Committee for Awards and Recognition
· Solicit, review, and recommend recipients for Alumni Achievement Awards.
· Contact award recipients; encourage them to attend Award Ceremony on campus, or to identify a hometown venue at which to receive their awards.
· Explore, and identify with SLU staff, a place on campus where a commemorative plaque identifying Alumni Award recipients can be displayed (e.g., Alumn Room in the renovated MacDonald Center).
· Review the definition of an “alumnus.”
Sub Committee for Regional Activities and Programs
· Seek to support current programs and events by encouraging alumni participation.
· Review with SLU staff current programs. Evaluate success.
· Compile a “best practice” list from current programs and activities.
· Identify new regions for program development.
Sub Committee for Reunions
· Review programs- past/future. Evaluate success.
· Compile a “best practice” list for future reunions.
· Increase the number of annual reunion attendees.
· Identify reunion-class leaders to increase attendance.
· Encourage attendance from regional centers and COL alumni.

Committee Charge
The committee for Association and Board Development is charged with ensuring clarity of purpose for the association and its board of directors. The committee also serves as the board’s nominating committee, and is responsible for the identification, nomination, and election of its members and officers. This Committee is responsible for ongoing board development and periodic self-assessment. Sub-committees may be designated as needed.
Committee Objectives
· Recommend desired board composition.
· Develop a network of new board member candidates.
· Identify, cultivate, and recommend nominees for annual board elections.
· Initiate board-member orientation program for new board members.
· Assess board and board-member performance.
· Debate and determine whether to re-nominate sitting board members.
· Anticipate future board leadership.
· Motivate board members.
· Develop programs to re-engage former directors.
Committee for Association Communication and Advancement
Committee Charge and Objectives
Committee Charge
The Committee for Association Communication and Advancement shall work with the office of University Advancement to ensure that the alumni association has an effective communication plan ensuring periodic, ongoing, appropriate communication with the university and its alumni stakeholders. The committee is charged with providing leadership and assistance to the university in its fund-raising activities. Sub-committees may be designated as necessary.
Committee Objectives for the year
· Identify audiences.
· Review and assess current communication tools.
· Recommend new communication tools.
· Work with the board & SLU staff to increase alumni giving to the annual fund.
· Work with SLU staff to expand the alumni scholarship program.
· Represent the board at regional activities and programs.
· Review current affinity programs and make recommendations.
